Brazil: Amazon Basin

The Amazon basin, the Rio Anapu and the Rio Tocantins are referred to as the Amazon basin, the Amazon lowlands or the Amazon. It covers almost the entire northern half of the continent of South America. The Amazon carries by far the largest amount of water worldwide.

The Amazon Rainforest covers more than half of the world’s remaining tropical forest and has the largest biodiversity of any tropical forest. (Source: Wikipedia)
