BARBECUE AT THE PARAISO TROPICAL

Having a good Time!

I visited the Paraiso Tropical in Havana when I wanted to open a diving school in Cuba in the late 1980s. (PADI, an American organization in the diving sector, made this impossible due to the prohibited exports; this also included the know-how of PADI). Maybe just as well, because if that had worked I would probably have gotten stuck in Cuba and would never have met Brigitta …

This reminiscence came to mind when Roberto spoke of his Balneario as a Paraiso Tropical a few days ago. And it’s not that far off. We live here in a tropical paradise. The temperatures reach around 40 °C. All around us are not only beautiful and shady trees, but also Papaya and Banana plants. (Brigitta serves fresh papaya with lime juice every day for breakfast and dessert!

No wonder that Charly and his friends are also drawn here. For the second time, a group on BMW motorcycles arrived here yesterday. We had prepared everything for a barbecue: Embers in two fireplaces and Brigitta had prepared a delicious potato salad the day before. Charly brought tender meat that was soon sizzling on the two grills! Is there a better way to sit out the Corona virus?

PS. We had chilled all sorts of drinks in Roberto’s fridge. The ice-cold beer was liked best by our visitors! Cheers!
