THE SCREW IS TIGHTENED

The Virus is everywhere!

After a week with Charly in Atotonilco el Alto, we returned to San Cristobal de la Barranca on March 30, 2020. To where Roberto and his two kittens were waiting for us. At Chedraui, a large shopping center on the outskirts of Guadalajara, we did some shopping. The racks were well filled. It didn’t look like people were stockpiling. (Not like the Swiss, who also buy toilet paper (!) in stock!)

There were two official announcements at the entrance to the Balneario. They pointed out that all of them will remain closed until further notice. (In time Roberto had obtained a permit from the police for us to stay here.) Brigitta went for the key, opened the gate and I drove to «our» place in the shade of a tree. The two kittens were waiting for us there, and Brigitta spoiled them with milk and cat food! We have the Balneario to ourselves. Roberto had to drain the water in the large pool; but the smaller one is enough for us.

On April 2nd, 2020, the loudspeaker car drove through the valley again. This time the population was informed that schools, balnearios and churches will remain closed until the end of April. The Mexicans were also asked to stay at home. However, we can still move freely and thus swing back and forth between here and Charly’s place. What more do we want!

PS. Brigitta is as well cooking for Roberto who eats with us. After the meal Roberto turns up his loudspeakers and we hear Mariachi music. Or Roberto, also a gifted singer, sings Karaoke.
