TULIPS FROM AMSTERDAM

Icon for the Netherlands!

If I remember correctly, this was the title of a sappy German hit song from the sixties of the last century. However, this is not about bad music but about beautiful flowers …

After a quiet and pleasant night flight of eight hours, we landed with sunshine at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. A nice and bright airport in contrast to that of Frankfurt! Since we entered the Schengen area, we had to do customs and immigration formalities here. Our two travel bags – each weighing 23 kilograms – were checked through to Zurich.

We ran into a Starbucks on the transfer to the next flight and ordered two cappuccinos from Fleur – as the employee is called – which cost eleven euros. For this amount, at Charly’s restaurant, in Atotonilco, you can get a juicy fillet weighing 250 grams …

PS. Amsterdam is not only known for its canals and narrow houses with gable facades, but also for its tulips. Why not take a few tulip bulbs home with us?
