We were looking forward to Iris and Ueli, with whom we want to travel northern Namibia for two weeks. We had arranged to meet them on February 8th, 2022 in Tsumeb. The two had flown on Saturday with Lufthansa from Zurich via Frankfurt to Windhoek. However, their luggage did not fly with them. It turned out to be flying to Gothenburg (!), in Sweden. It takes a few days for it to reach Windhoek from there. What now?

We drove to Tsumeb on Monday, February 7th, 2022 as planned. There we learned from Iris that they are still waiting for the luggage in Windhoek. It is supposed to arrive on Wednesday afternoon. What now? If we have learned anything in Namibia, it is «to make a plan». (You hear this phrase almost every day in Namibia!)

We agreed that we would wait for them in Tsumeb, on the campsite at Kupferquelle. The plan is that they leave Windhoek (with luggage) on Wednesday and spend the night halfway. The next morning, they drive on to Tsumeb. And from here we drive together to Namutoni, our first stop in the Etosha National Park. That’s the plan!

PS. Let’s hope this plan works. And otherwise, we’ll make a new one! We usually spend the waiting time in this beautiful pool!
