Welcome to our home!
More than fifty springboks have found their home on the Rossmund golf course. There they enjoy themselves on the greens – not to the delight of all golfers. What is a disruptive factor for some, is a reason for joy for others. There are homeowners at Rossmund who spoil the springboks with concentrated feed and also put out salt licks for them.
We are also among those for whom the well-being of the springboks is more important than a well-kept golf course where the grass has to stand at attention. Every time we walk across the golf course we look forward to these adorable gazelles. Now that they have offsprings and are increasingly looking for food. So, it suits them that a hedge grows on our wooden fence.
The juicy, green leaves must be a treat for the springboks. No wonder, then, that a few nights ago they devoted themselves intensively to our hedge. But at least they were decent enough not to jump over the fence and eat the leaves on the other side too! Thank you, dear springboks! And a warm welcome at our house!
PS. This morning, when Brigitta shook the bedcovers on the balcony, she actually saw a springbok. Maybe it was the one who feasted on the hedge?
