MEOW, MEOW, MEOW…

Nice to stay with Brigitta and Paul!

Cats seem to like us. How else to explain that Divertido crossed our path in Mexico? In Swakopmund it was Bell who is currently waiting for us on Gecko Ridge, where is she from? In Kandersteg, it’s Balu, our neighbors’ cat, who pays us a visit every day. A few days later, a shy cat showed up, but immediately ran away again.

Two days later she reappeared. Brigitta quickly realized that the cat was malnourished and badly disheveled. We didn’t find out who owned it at the time. But it was obvious that a visit to the vet was necessary. There, an overactive thyroid gland was diagnosed. The cat – we christened her Pünktli – stayed in the veterinary clinic for a week where she was nursed.

On the way back to Kandersteg we decided to take her with us afterwards – it will be two months before we return to Namibia. (We now know it’s over 22 years old and who owns it!)

PS. Here you can find out more about the Cat’s Inn sanctuary in Frutigen. It’s wonderful that there are people who care so much about cats.
