After a few days on the edge of a vineyard, we packed our things once again in Weiningen on May 11th, 2024 – we are now grandmasters at this! But this time we didn’t fill diesel and water jerry cans like in Swakopmund when we go on a trip. The one we had in front of us was supposed to take us near Salzburg, to Eugendorf. There, on the golf course, we want to dedicate ourselves to playing golf and eliminating the mistakes that we got used to in Swakopmund.

The Mercedes convertible, which will be half my age next year, was packed and stood in front of the house. We set off at 9 am under a blue sky. We drove to Innsbruck via the Arlberg Pass, where we saw snow again. A hundred kilometers later we turned off the motorway and drove on a side road through an idyllic valley that took us via St. Johann to Eugendorf. By the time we got there we had covered 500 kilometers and it was six hours later.

After arriving, we unpacked our golf equipment and settled into our apartment, from which we can see the greenery. Swallows flit around the nearby farmhouse and the tinkling of bells from the grazing cows can also be heard. No wonder we already feel at home here…
