ALPHA & OMEGA & KLAUS

Man at Work!

2005 we had two solar panels installed on Mahangu’s roof. (Brigitta replaced one after our «Salto non Mortale» in Southern Chile 2018!) These panels provide solar power; but only when they’re exposed to the sun. But when the temperature rises close to 40 °C, nobody wants to park the car in the sun. We certainly don’t! However, if you park the car in the shade, what you probably want to do, the panels do not supply electricity. So, what’s to do?

The solution is that you have an extra solar panel, that you can put where the sun is shining. What is also needed, is an extension cable of at least ten meters in length. We had both. The only problem was that this panel no longer supplied electricity, which we found out with the help of Urs and his measuring device. What now?

As always, we asked Charly for advice. And he knows Klaus, an Austrian from Carinthia, who has been living in Guadalajara for almost 30 years. A few years ago, he founded the company Alpha & Omega, which operates in the solar sector. Brigitta made an appointment with Klaus via WhatsApp. We visited him on our way to the Balneario. To our great joy Klaus had a suitable solar panel for us. Now we can park in the shade of the trees and the solar panel faces the sun for us!

PS: We invited Klaus, who also organized a 110V / 220V transformer for us, to the Balneario for May 5th, 2020. We have already chilled the beer …
