WINTER IS MELTING!

The days of icicles are numbered!

We look forward to experiencing a little of winter when we return from Swakopmund, Namibia, Kandersteg and Switzerland in mid-March. What could be more beautiful than a winter landscape – ideally with sunshine and a blue sky.

At the beginning we were happy about the big flakes that fell from a grey sky. The fondue tastes best in this weather. And what could be nicer than sitting in the warm room and watching the fire crackling in the oven? Outside, the birds buzz around the feeder, which we fill with good food every morning. In the meantime, they have also learned to appreciate the butter that we serve them.

It has now snowed for several days – unusual for the month of April, even the locals say. But enough is enough! On April 25th, 2024, the sun was again shining from a deep blue sky. The thermometer showed +14 °C instead of -4 °C as in the last few days. The forest all around is still white, but the meadows are changing their colour to green. And the mountains all around glitter in their winter coat! It is a breathtaking landscape that we enjoy again and again.
