Many of our long-standing friends live in the Zurich region. Ever since we sold our house, we’ve found shelter with them – for example, in Weiningen. We always use the stays in the region to visit friends. Or we are invited to a birthday party – such as on Saturday evening in June.

It was a balmy evening when we arrived at the restaurant with about thirty other guests. Although we didn’t know each other, lively discussions soon relaxed; mostly it was about travelling. But there was no shortage of enjoyment either; a good wine from the region was served with an excellent meal.

For once we didn’t have to worry about driving home. Our hostess had reserved a room for us and two other couples in a hotel, which is located directly on Lake Zurich! It was the first time in our lives that we looked out of the bedroom window at Lake Zurich in the morning – a great sight!
