What a Reunion!
Finally! On February 10, 2022, Iris and Ueli arrived in Tsumeb three days late. But with the piece of luggage that finally found its way to Windhoek via Gothenburg and Addis Ababa!
What a reunion! Of course, there was a lot to talk about over a cup of coffee. But we didn’t stay in Tsumeb for too long. After some last-minute shopping we set course for Fort Namutoni, some 120 kilometers away. The formalities at the Lindequist Gate were quickly completed. Finally, we were where we wanted to be yesterday: in the Etosha National Park! On the way to the fort, our guests got to see the first giraffes, springboks, impalas and even two of the shy dik-dik.
At the end of the first day, we did a tour around the Fisher’s Pan. We had heard that the first flamingos had arrived in Etosha – we didn’t want to miss this spectacle. And maybe we would also meet elephants…
PS. Instead of elephants we got to see a black rhino. It was well camouflaged in a mud hole, but Brigitta discovered it anyway!
