During Christmas we left Swakopmund to the locals and fled inland. During this time everybody come to the coast – that alone was a good reason for us to flee.

We knew from our friends, Ursi and Karl, who let us stay in their house when we are in Switzerland, that they sent us a Christmas present. When we got back from the Caprivi, the package had already been on its way for a month. Ursi was of course disappointed; and so, do we, that it hasn’t arrived in Swakopmund yet. We comforted her, knowing from experience that postcards can take up to three months to arrive from Swakopmund to Zurich. Why not a Christmas parcel as well?

Our joy was all the greater when we received the message from the Namibian Post via SMS (!) on January 20th, 2022 that we could pick up the package at the counter #4 in Swakopmund.

PS. Our joy was even greater when we opened the package and unpacked the contents! Thank you very much, dear Ursi and Karl – you made us very happy!
