The Palmwag Lodge was only 160 kilometers from our Aussicht location. So, we took it easy that morning and slept off first. Although it looked like rain the night before, the expected showers did not materialize – to the chagrin of Marius.

Our plan was to spend two days at the Ongongo waterfall. The last time we were there over fifteen years ago, we had fond memories of this place. Once again, we made the experience that it is sometimes better not to visit the same place again years later. In the meantime, the infrastructure of the campsite has been improved and enlarged. But the clean source from before was no longer recognizable. The water was full of algae – that didn’t make you want to stay. We made a right turn and drove on to the Palmwag Lodge.

PS. At the Lodge there are two refreshing, clean swimming pools, a restaurant and a nice campsite. We have weaver birds, Francolins, Bulbuls, Glossy Starlings, a couple of squirrels and a Mongoose visiting.
