After three days we had seen what there was to see in Lüderitz and the surrounding area. We hadn’t tried the Portuguese menu all the way to the end, but there are good fish restaurants in Swakopmund too …

So, we said goodbye to Lüderitz on April 8th, 2021 and set off early in the morning for the journey to Aus, which lies 125 kilometers away. There we made a stop at the Hotel Restaurant Bahnhof and had breakfast. I bought a bottle of Sparkling Wine in the shop attached to the petrol station, because we had something to celebrate the following day: our twentieth wedding anniversary!

Equipped in this way, we turned off to Aus on the C13, which led us in the direction of Helmeringhausen. As always, we were alone on the road. (I remembered my journeys on the A1 from Zurich to Solothurn – I could hardly see anything of the landscape because of the cars!) Later we turned onto the C27 and thirty kilometers later we came across a sign pointing to Landsberg Farm. It was 25 kilometers to drive there. They led us – in 4×4 mode – once more through a fantastically beautiful landscape to the farm, where we were warmly welcomed.

PS. On April 9th, 2001 we celebrated our wedding with friends in Windhoek. Now, twenty years later, we are celebrating here. What have we not experienced in the meantime …
