Sweet Bunnies – I miss YOU!
It is not the first time that we celebrate Easter abroad and while traveling. I have fond memories of Easter 2007. At that time, I asked our friends in Switzerland to send me an Easter bunny or another sweet as a birthday present to the Swiss embassy in Caracas, Venezuela. (It’s usually my birthday around Easter). At that time, however, we arrived in Caracas a month later than planned. A dozen gifts awaited us at the embassy. I had to open each one so that the embassy employee could verify the content. However, after the fourth chocolate bunny, Ms. Roelli gave up and said with a smile: «You must truly like sweets!». Right!
We left the embassy with a few kilos of chocolate rabbits and eggs. We took the subway back to our hotel to put the delicacies asap in the fridge. My mouth is still watering when I think about it. How dearly I would like to bite into a chocolate bunny right now …
That brings me to the topic: We are celebrating Easter this year in the Balneario and in the shade of the trees. The daytime temperature now rises to almost forty degrees. For most, it would be too warm to eat chocolate. But not for me!
PS: I wonder if Brigitta has hidden a nest of eggs and chocolate rabbits somewhere? The way she does it at home …
