Chile: Center

Central Chile is the region around the capital Santiago. It includes the three largest metropolitan regions of the country: Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción. Central Chile stretches between the 32nd and 38th southern latitudes. The climate is very similar to the Mediterranean climate in Europe, but has larger temperature differences between day and night, as the Pacific is very cool here (only around 18°C in summer) and therefore does not function as a heat store. Nevertheless, the vegetation of the region is largely identical to that of the Mediterranean. (Source: Wikipedia)
