QUIET DAYS IN SWAKOPMUND

Safety first!

We know Swakopmund, on Namibia’s coast, from previous trips. At the moment we live in a friend’s house, which is right beside the dunes. We now know our way around the house and know where and when to press which switch and where the grill is. Even the Amarok, which stayed in the garage with an empty battery, was up and running after a few days!

Our first excursion took us to the town that looked deserted. (The effects that the virus has on tourism can be clearly felt here!) Fortunately, the Fish Deli, which serves delicious and fresh fish, is still open. And the German Brauhaus, where you can savor German specialties too. Not to forget the Ice & Spice, an ice cream parlor that sells dozens of different types of ice cream. Did I forget something? Of course: the famous Café Anton where you can get the delicious Black Forest cake!

Apropos Covid 19: It is much more relaxed here. We are glad we left Switzerland and the hysteria behind!
